What is the ACT and why is it important?

The ACT test is a 3 and 1/2 hour test that is comprised of 4 sections (English, Math, Reading, and Science). These four sections test your ability to work at a quick pace and your knowledge of the subjects. This test is used for most college admissions and scholarships. This test is extremely important and we would like to give deserving students a “one up” in the process as it can become lengthy and costly.

What does the scholarship include?

We are providing students with the opportunity to take an ACT test along with a 5 week preparation course leading up to it. Students awarded the scholarship will need to immediately sign up for the December or February ACT test. A director will assist you through the sign up process. Students will start the course by taking a practice ACT to help the tutor determine needs. They will learn valuable strategies to maximize their ACT score. After the 5 week course, student will the ACT test. All test fees and tuition costs will be covered in the scholarship. On average, tutoring and an ACT class is around $500. Transportation is not provided to the ACT testing location.

What is the preparation class?

This is a 5 week ACT preparation class of consisting of 2 sessions per week. Classes are either in-person or virtual (you can choose). In-person students will need to arrange transportation. If chosen, you will select the class time of your choice. You will also be required to attend 1 open-lab a week. Click the link to view the schedule for College Preparation Station.

How do I apply?

Please go to the Google Form below to apply. Awardees will be notified approximately 1 day after the due date via email and social media. Once awarded, we will need to set up a 60 minute Zoom call to register you for the ACT and the class with a guardian present.
